RILUXA CLIENT PROJECTS
Luxury Products Made in Valencia for a Made in Valencia Couple
Born and raised in Valencia, Amparo and her family were searching for the right products to renovate their en-suite and construct their new guest bathroom. With two different styles in mind, they began their bathroom renovation journey.
After scouring Instagram and Pinterest, they stumbled across Riluxa and chose us to provide quality products and services. In this article, Amparo discusses what first attracted her to Riluxa and how the process went.
First of all, tell us a little bit about yourself: are you a private homeowner or a design professional and where do you live?
My name is Amparo and I live in Valencia with my husband and our cat and dog. We live near the centre of Valencia, near the old town. I’m a personal assistant and my husband is a sales development manager.
Tell us about your bathroom projects— Were they renovations or did you start from scratch? How long did it take and did everything go as planned, or were there any unpleasant surprises along the way?
For our bathroom projects, we renovated our personal en-suite and converted our spare room into a guest bathroom. We’d been using it to store things like tools and electronics, but our extended family has been growing over the last few years and we’d prefer it if we didn’t have people walking in and out of our bedroom to access the bathroom.
For us, finding the right products was the most difficult part of the process. We already had an idea of what we wanted the bathrooms to look like, but we were struggling to find products and retailers that aligned with what we had in mind, so as soon as we found what we were looking for, it was, go, go, go!
The renovation itself didn’t take too long at all. After we found the furniture and products we wanted to use, it took five weeks for our en-suite bathroom to be completed and six weeks for the guest bathroom. We’re so happy with how smoothly everything went, and our constructors did an amazing job. They were very patient, especially as our dog was quite excited by all the noise and people!
Tell us the story of your Riluxa relationship—how you found us and what your experience has been.
I myself am a huge fan of interior design, so I was searching for inspiration and ideas on Pinterest and Instagram and I came across an Instagram post featuring one of your gorgeous marble bathtubs! Although we weren’t looking for any bathtubs, I was blown away by the quality of the material and Riluxa’s craftsmanship, and even more so when we realised they were made in Valencia, our hometown. So, I scrolled through the rest of Riluxa’s feed and finally decided that we were going to use Riluxa to help furnish our bathrooms.
Our experience with Riluxa was excellent. Our Design Advisor, Loan, was amazing, and helped us so much, as I must admit, we did have a lot of questions! I actually reached out to Riluxa on Instagram first to enquire about one of the Gaia cabinets that was posted, and from then on it was smooth sailing.
What was the style you were going for—and what inspired it? What products did you buy from us and what attracted you to them?
For our en-suite, we chose the Corvus Double Washbasin in Corian® Deep Titanium and the Gaia Cabinet in Solid Oak to create the vanity unit. We also used shelves made of Corian® Deep Titanium for the niche in the shower.

For us, maximising shelving and storage space was one of the most important features of this bathroom, as we wanted it to be elegant, but practical. The Gaia cabinet was the first piece that stood out to us, as not only is there plentiful storage space, the solid oak material exudes warmth and adds authenticity to the vanity. Whilst looking for the perfect colour to complete our vanity, we fell in love with Corian® Deep Titanium, as we wanted a moody, stormy colour that wasn’t just black.

For the shower, we first thought of going the traditional route and installing some chrome wall-hung shelves, but our contractors showed us some of the niche shelving they had done for their previous clients and suggested we go with this instead. This may be one of my favourite parts of the bathroom, as although it’s quite simple, it adds sophistication to the niche and maximises shower space. We also love that we used the same material, Corian® Deep Titanium, for the shelving as it’s a lovely reference to our double washbasin.

For the guest bathroom, we went for more of a minimalist design as we wanted something simple and clean, but also sophisticated and refined. We chose the Quiet Corian® Glacier White Washbasin, and Gaia Classic Cabinet to compose the vanity unit and the Orion Shower Tray. We also used chrome taps from Riluxa, as we wanted a more polished and clean look.

We selected our furniture to be white, however, we wanted a neutral colour scheme to offset the modest colour palette. The 3D wall panelling was my husband's idea, as he felt that the bathroom needed a unique feature to modernise it. The design of this shower is more square and compact than our personal one, so we wanted a tray that was tailored to the shape. Our Design Advisor in Riluxa suggested the Orion shower tray as they are made-to-measure, which was exactly what we needed. We found Riluxa’s bespoke Orion shower tray was our main choice as it had to be made to measure. It’s also stain and mould resistant, which makes it a lot more sustainable and easier to clean.

There were some difficult moments at first, but overall, it was a great experience and we’re so happy with how the project panned out. We’ve been receiving lots of positive feedback from friends and family about the guest bathroom, so it’s safe to say that this was a success!
