Cevisama 2023: A Peek Into This Year's Leading Trade Event
To stay on top of the latest bathroom trends, the Riluxa Team visited the CEVISAMA fair in Valencia, a leading trade event for the ceramic, bathroom equipment, and natural stone sectors. This was CEVISAMA’s first fair since the pandemic and with over 74,000 attendees and 500 brands, it’s safe to say that this year’s convention was a success!
A prominent feature this year was the increased interest of international visitors and brands, something that was very evident by the number of different languages we heard. In fact, out of 74,115 visitors, 25% came from abroad.
This year at CEVISAMA, many trends caught our attention, including the noticeable presence of wooden furniture and the strong emphasis on pastel colours, among others.
Soft green was a predominant colour in furniture and basins.
Taps with an assertive look are definitely the new trend in the bathroom.
Pastel colours
While for a long time bathroom elements were chosen on the basis of timelessness, some bathrooms now have a strong emphasis on colour. Pastel shades allow for the introduction of colour in a very subtle way, and are definitely one of the top trends this year. In a multitude of colours, these pastel tones were seen in a wide range of different areas: furniture, fixtures like taps, and even washbasins.
Wood has pride of place in bathrooms, both for furniture and sinks.
Wood in the spotlight
There seemed to be a significant increase in sustainable and innovative products, from wood washbasins and woven furniture, which showed a love for more organic and beautiful craftsmanship. Wooden vanity bases were also widely seen and, more often than not, with a fluted or groove design.
Mirrors are an integral part of the decoration. This mirror frames the hanging basin and allows to delimit the spaces.
Smart mirrors can display information on their surface: weather, calendar, time, or even news.
Mirror, mirror on the wall
One of Riluxa’s favourite trends this year was the abundance of illuminated smart mirrors, with not only controls for the LED lights, but Bluetooth and even an anti-steam system. The soft lighting and the variety of shapes and sizes of the mirrors were mesmerising and truly a delight to see.
Marble is everywhere, even under our feet, with these marble-effect shower trays.
Marble and natural stone effect
Last but not least was the abundance of natural stones and marbles, which where not only used for vanity units and washbasins, but also on the walls and even under our feet. These striking and beautiful designs were the belle of the ball, and it was fascinating to see how each stone was uniquely used.
Not only were we truly inspired by the ingenuity and beauty on display at this year's CEVISAMA, but also by the huge international crowd, both from brands and visitors. Bathroom design is always transforming, and to have a front-row seat was a true privilege.
