MEET THE DESIGNER
Lysa Tsouli’s Take on Contemporary Minimalism
Whether she’s restoring a vast Haussmannien apartment or cleverly reworking a tiny space, Lysa Tsouli, of Paris-based Interior Architect firm Studio Carrez, always lets beautiful materials reign supreme. Think marbles, Corian, herringbone parquet floors and even wild agate. And although her refined minimalism pays due homage to the grandeur of the buildings she works on, she also has a unique flair for adding a contemporary twist with a pop of colour.
We caught up with Lysa recently, where she shared her approach to her work, what she looks for when designing a bathroom, and why she comes back to Riluxa time and time again.
First of all, a little about yourself - are you a homeowner or a design professional, and where do you live?
I’m Lysa Tsouli, 30 years of age and from Paris, where I now live. I’m an interior architect and a mother to my two little boys.
What design style do you aim to bring to your projects – and what inspires your choices?
I approach every project on an individual basis and my aesthetic depends on the project or client in question. As an interior architect, the projects I work on involve taking the space back to the bare bones and reconfiguring and reinventing according to what best suits a client’s needs.
“I was really drawn to the timeless clean lines of the pieces, the wide range of colours available and the ease of the whole process.”

Tell us about your relationship with Riluxa – how you found us and why you decided to use our pieces in so many of your projects?
Riluxa has been both a professional and personal affair for me. I’ve fitted Riluxa products on numerous client projects with my studio, but I’ve also chosen to use them in my own homes for several years.
I think that the first time I worked with Riluxa on a professional project was 4 or 5 years ago, in my role as an interior architect. I discovered the brand while searching online for ultra-modern bathroom furniture. I was really drawn to the timeless clean lines of the pieces, the wide range of colours available and the ease of the whole process. Both placing an order and tracking its status is always really simple, even for custom-made pieces.

What Riluxa pieces have you used in your projects?
Over the course of different client products, I keep coming back to your vanity top basins made of Corian, in various styles, which I combine with the wall-mounted vanity bases.
What attracted you to these specific pieces?
I would say it’s the clean, contemporary lines of the products that appeal most of all, as well as the huge variety of colours they’re offered in and the ability to freely combine pieces.

How do you feel about how your projects with Riluxa have turned out?
Although all projects and work sites bring surprises along the way, I’m delighted with how every one of my projects have turned out.
